STRESS – A SMALL WORD BUT A HUGE FEELING!
Are you someone who is working? Are you someone who is a home maker? Are you someone who is running a business? Are you someone who is a student? Are you someone who is married? Are you someone who is single? Are you someone who is pregnant? Are you someone who is a mom? Are you someone who has any kind of identity of your own? Are you someone who is stressed about juggling everything all at once? Are you someone who is stressed that nothing is working at this very moment? Are you someone who is stressed about being taunted, provoked, belittled or disrespected?
Welcome to the world of being treated the way you never wanted!! Here is a big hug to you!! Yes, many times people treat you the way you never wanted or you never expected; that breaks you down into pieces. I know you are someone who might have picked those pieces and fixed yourself to present in front of others again. It might have happened for the first time or it might have happened multiple times!! Ask yourself, was it worth it? Or what was your worth of being mistreated? Did you ever give it a thought? Or did you think over it multiple times? When life throws lemons at you, what do you do?
- Do you throw it back at life?
- Do you use it to make lemonade?
- Do you use it to remove your evil eye?
The choice is yours! But do you choose what you want? What you choose to see is what shapes you as a person. In short, your choices build your personality. With the personality, your behaviour, your decisions, your present and future lies. So is it worth stressing on what is happening around you? Or is it worth taking actions towards your choices that reshapes your personality? Think about it again, what do you do when someone says or does something that really bothers you? Think deep!! Does it help you in any way when you keep thinking over what happened or what you should have done or said at that past moment? For a short time, maybe yes to remove your stress baggage!! But in a long run, do you really think it works? Or do you get stuck in a loop of overthinking, overanalysing and overstressing? Instead what could be done when this happens? Here are the 5 BIG yet simple strategies you can try when you get stuck in this loop of overstressing yourself:
1. Breathe Right
Yes, breathe right!! We all know we are alive because we all breathe. But do we breathe right? Why is it important to breathe right? A good amount of oxygen supply into our body helps with better blood circulation and thereby calms us down. So do deep inhale, hold and exhale when stressed.
2. Water Intake
We all know our body is majorly made up of water. Our body functions well when we have enough water in it and it is also directly connected with our mind. Hydrating yourself helps your body and mind to work better.
3. Movement & Ventilation
Are you sitting in one place and spending the entire day? Or are you in the same place every day? Does the routine look the same to you on a daily basis? Are you getting enough sunlight and fresh air? Have you ever thought of it? Yes, the natural resources play a major role in our physical, mental and emotional health. Pay attention to this. Always have some positive and joyous change in your routine and have proper ventilation on a daily basis.
4. Wise & Confident
Do you agree that KNOWLEDGE IS POWER? No, I don’t agree with it!! Let’s say you have a weapon but you do not know how to use it to save your life!! Then what is the advantage of having that weapon?? Same way, when you have knowledge and you do not know how to use it, then how will it be powerful? Then how to utilise that power?? By being wise about it. When we have knowledge or information, it is our wisdom that helps us to utilise that power with the right people at the right time and the right place. That will lead you to be more confident. With confidence, you can conquer the world!
5. Positivity Only
Yes, you heard it right. In the world of so much negativity, we need to attract positivity to the core. Just like how a lotus flower looks so fresh without letting the pond dirt sit on its petals, we need to ignore the negativity as much as possible. Now you might be wondering HOW? Let me tell you, when you were born, you did not smile but cried. And when you cried, you were handed over to your mother. Because she is your safe space. Same way, whenever you are low, stressed or feeling negative, you need to find your safe space that gives you comfort and positivity. Through that you can thrive and make yourself feel better. By being consistent and persistent about being positive, you would start attracting everything positive around you in between negativity. Now, can you recall what it was that you needed the most in your life that was lacking to be stress-free? YOUR LIFE CHOICES SHAPE YOUR LIFE as you want. Be it with little events or close people or major conversations that happen, it’s YOUR CHOICES of using what is required that would be best for YOU. Thinking over the same events, people and conversations won’t help you to change positively. But keeping it on a surface level without affecting your mind, taking actions DO help you change the environment you are in.
